In her studio in Conisbrough, South Yorkshire, Maddy also holds 1:1 training courses for a more individually structured training to suit the needs of each attendee. You will have a discussion about your needs so Maddy can ensure you get as much as possible from the course.

Maddy will gladly travel to you when expenses are covered.

Training is popular for those just starting out in photography, as well as those well established in other genres, and wishing to add this wonderful area of photography to their existing business.

Maddy’s history working with Scope as a sleep counsellor comes into it’s own when dealing with sleeping babies, as she can teach you about levels of sleep, and how to recognise them. This is invaluable when deciding when to move a baby with less chance of waking them, and when to leave them be.

1:1 Newborn Training at Maddy Rogers Photography

This is not a photography course, and while we are able to offer advice on settings suitable for this genre, it is best you have a basic understanding of how to use your DSLR in manual.

1:1 Newborn Training at Maddy Rogers Photography

I believe the best way to learn is hands on. Its all very well watching someone pose etc, but the best way you’ll pick those skills up and know you can do it, is to do it. So, I will ensure that I teach you everything you need on the first day, which will be run as the one day course above.

Then, rather than then have to go off and wait days or weeks to practice on a real baby on your own, when you’ve forgotten so much, you get to do so the next day with me by your side, not just ensuring baby is always happy and safe, but to ensure you’ve taken it all in, and to guide you as you go.

This two day 1:1 is perfect for if you really do want to ensure you leave with not just the knowledge, but the chance to actually put them into practice with me right there. You will learn all that is listed above, and is truly tailored to your needs.

The cost for the whole day is £1195.

The first day will involve me showing what you’ve asked to learn.

I will do all the posing and soothing, explaining as I go.

This gives you the chance to take it all in, make notes, and ask questions.

Then you go back to your hotel and rest up before its your turn the next day.

You get to use my props if in my studio, and style the session yourself.

Then when baby arrives, it’s over to you.

I will be right there by your side to guide and assist, making sure you’re happy, and baby is too.

If you’re very new to newborn photography, it may be that this is a slow steady and simple day as you simply gain your confidence handling and soothing baby.

You won’t be pushed into anything at all, and you’ll only do what you’re comfortable with.

If you’re already trading and have experience with newborns, you could run the entire session, with me just there to give reminders. Either way, I will be there to make sure you’re putting all you learned into practice.

Day two will end after you session because trust me, you’ll be fried!

In my experience this is the intense day…the day it all clicks, and the day you realise you really CAN do it.

new photography studio in Doncaster for newborns and babies

1:1 Newborn Training at Maddy Rogers Photography

This is a course that really takes your learning up a notch.

Some businesses need more from newborn training than a single hands on day. They need coaching too.

On this course we will delve deeper into your needs when it comes to not just your newborn images, but your entire approach to this side of your business.

From before your training to a year after, we will ensure that you really do grow, but also have a guiding hand as you implement all that you have learned, so you can feel supported as you see your newborn photography go from strength to strength, for you and your clients.

We also offer this course to studios with more than one photographer.

Before Your Training

Before your training, Maddy you will have a Zoom call to go over in detail what you feel you want to take from this course.

Where are you strengths and weaknesses, and what needs to change?

We can also look at your studio space and equipment if you wish, to highlight any areas that could be improved ahead of your training if Maddy is travelling to you.

We will also take a look at your admin processes when dealing with you special newborn clients and Lou Rulton, Maddy’s incredible admin assistant, will write a report on her observations on your current processes and offer advice how you could improve your contacts, clients prep and communication, and your language if necessary.

All of which is hugely important when it comes to building a trusting relationship with families at such an emotive time in their lives, often for the first time.

The In-Person Training

On your in person training days the format is that of the TWO DAY training above.

Day one Maddy will run a full newborn session and teach as she goes, tailored to what we have established you need.

On day two you will run a session with Maddy at your side.

Ongoing Coaching

After your in person training we then have follow up Zoom calls quarterly for one year, to address any setbacks, problems or anything else you want to discuss.

This quarterly meeting will also include a full newborn image gallery review beforehand to allow us to see how your progress is going.

The aim is that by the end of the year post training, you will be flying with your newborn photography and have really seen some growth.

Team Course

If you run a studio with other staff members you’d like to benefit from training and coaching too, we can do this.

We will of course discuss your various staff roles, and tailor the training and ongoing coaching to meet the needs of your studio as a whole.
